On Thursday afternoon, the Howrah-Amta local train derailed in the Jadavbati area of Jagatballabhpur before reaching Maju Halt station. The incident caused chaos and resulted in several passengers being injured.
Railway officials and engineers from the South Eastern Railway promptly arrived at the scene after the derailment. The cause of the accident remains unclear, although a crack has been found in the railway line.
Aditya Chowdhary, the CPRO of the South Eastern Railway, has announced that an investigation is underway to determine whether the crack in the rail line existed prior to the accident or if it occurred as a result of the derailment.
The incident has disrupted train services on the Howrah-Amta branch, causing inconvenience to passengers.
